How Can CBT Therapy Help With ADHD?
ADHD can present differently in each person and may affect areas such as focus, organisation, emotional regulation, impulsivity, and self-esteem. As a CBT therapist in Glasgow, I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where we can work together to understand the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours linked to these challenges, build practical coping strategies, and develop tools that help you feel more in control in everyday life.
Focus and Concentration
CBT can help you develop practical strategies to improve focus, manage distractions, and build routines that support better concentration in daily life.
Time Management and Organisation
Therapy can support difficulties with planning, procrastination, and staying organised by helping you create realistic systems that work for your lifestyle.
Emotional Regulation
ADHD can often come with intense emotions, frustration, or feeling easily overwhelmed. CBT helps you recognise emotional triggers and develop healthier ways to respond.
Impulsivity and Decision Making
CBT can help you become more aware of impulsive thoughts and behaviours, supporting better decision making and greater self-control.
Relapse Prevention
Living with ADHD can sometimes lead to self-criticism or feeling misunderstood. Therapy provides support to challenge negative beliefs and build confidence in your strengths and abilities.
